From Trainee to Agri-Entrepreneur: Shubham’s Rural Transformation Krushakmitra | Wandali, Yavatmal, Maharashtra

Shubham Ashok Farkade, from Wandali village in Yavatmal, joined Prachodhan’s Agri Input Shop Support initiative with an interest in building a livelihood while serving other farmers. He received structured training in agricultural entrepreneurship, agri-input management and farm services.

The training helped Shubham establish himself as a Krushakmitra. His enterprise was further strengthened through support with a Kirloskar Mega T15 power tiller, enabling him to offer farm machinery services closer to farmers’ fields and expand the range of assistance available locally.

Shubham also brought four additional rural youth into agri-service activities, creating employment opportunities while extending the reach of his enterprise. Together, they provide guidance on crop management, improved farming practices, agricultural inputs and farm mechanisation.

Recognising the value of practical learning, Shubham and his team also established a Farm Field School where farmers can observe improved techniques, learn through demonstration and exchange knowledge. His monthly income has grown to approximately Rs.30,000–Rs.35,000. Shubham’s journey shows how one trained rural entrepreneur can strengthen both livelihoods and access to agricultural services.
